Park 'n Play

As we get set to open our first community park in over 75 years, Schneider Park Athletic Field, located by the south community garden, will host the return of the Park 'n Play program.  Many residents that grew up in Bexley remember spending hours playing tennis, checkers, horse shoes, or throwing a frisbee with equipment they rented from the park cabin staff.  They also remember the evenings they spent with other neighborhood kids and playground leaders at the elementary schools playing kickball, dodgeball, or four square.

Park 'n Play program, at it’s core, is a “Fun Team” that consists of staff and equipment to provide free activities to the community.  Park 'n Play will operate out of the new Schneider Park Athletic Field and Playground on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6p-8p.  The Park 'n Play program will start on Tuesday, June 4th and run all summer through Thursday, August 22nd.

In addition to Park 'n Play programming, we will also be offering free instructor based classes at Schendier Park on the 2nd and 4th Saturday from June-August.  The programs, with support from Park 'n Play staff, will run from 10a-12noon.  Below is a list of the dates and classes for the free Saturday morning programs:

6/8 - Sports, Fitness, Arts & Crafts with Coach Chris and Ms. Shonda
6/22 - Tae Kwon Do with Instructor Carl LaVerdiere
7/13 - Sports, Fitness, Arts & Crafts with Coach Chris and Ms. Shonda
7/27 - Soccer Games with CESA & CEFC Soccer Coaches
8/10 - Flag Football with Former Ohio State Buckeye, Roger Harper
8/24 - Ultimate Ninja Warrior with staff from Bally Sports Group

Park 'n Play staff will provide fun and exciting activities and provide general supervision for visitors.  Although the staff will provide general supervision of kids on site, kids will be free to come and go as they please, so parents should only send kids that are responsible enough to handle that level of freedom.  Activies may include water fights, kayak races in the pool, kickball, dodgeball, capture the flag, slide races, and much more.

Schneider Park Athletic Field Map:
Please note, Schneider Park is a linear park that stretches along Alum Creek from Livingston to Main Street.  Some directions may tell you to access Schneider Park at Astor and Sheridan.  Although this will get you to Schneider Park, the athletic field and playground portions of the park is located at the south end of the park (This is where Park 'n Play programming will take place).  Below is a map that marks the location within Schneider Park of the Athletic Field:
