Trash Pickup Information
Trash, yard waste, and recycling is picked up on Monday mornings of each week.  The City of Bexley contracts with Rumpke, a third party waste management contractor, to provide this service.  Residents with alleys should place their trash at their alley frontage in lidded trash cans, and place their recycling and yard waste at their front yard between the sidewalk and the curb.  Residents without alleys should place their trash at the top of their driveway, with recycling and yard waste placed between the sidewalk and the curb.

You may pick up a recycling bin at City Hall, located at 2242 East Main Street.  Recycling will be picked up by Rumpke every Monday.  Please do not put trash, yard waste, or recycling out more than 24 hours before collection and please retrieve the bins within 12 hours of collection.

If your trash or recycling is missed for pickup, please contact City Hall at 614-559-4200 on Tuesday and we will contact Rumpke on your behalf.

Code Enforcement:
Bexley City Code establishes a minimum standard that structures and exterior property are to meet.  The laws and codified ordinances can be found under the Public Documents page.  The Building and Zoning Department will, on extremely rare conditions, issue a citation to a citizen.  In almost all cases there will be two violation notices distributed to the home owner explaining the violation and then a grace period allowing the owner to resolve the violations.  For an overview of bexley code specifications, please visit the code enforcement overview page.

Bexley Leash Laws:
Bexley is full of animal lovers and has an active population of pet owners.  However, Bexley law requires (Chapter 618 of Bexley City Code) that dog owners keep their dogs on leash at all times while walking.  Also, dog owners are prohibited from allowing their dogs to run at large upon public property or on others' property.  Please pick up after your dog while walking. The laws and codified ordinances can be found under the Public Documents page.  Please note that no dogs are permitted at Bexley parks, including Jeffrey Mansion.
